Our COVID-19 Compliant Catering Procedures
From 24th JUNE 2020, Local Catering Services is ACCEPTING BOOKINGS for events catering and delivery drop offs (Drop Catering).
As of the 1st of NOVEMBER 2020, Local Catering Services will offer our full range of hot and cold catering services to the general public.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have implemented procedures and processes to ensure our operations are COVID-19 Compliant.
In line with guidance from the CDC and California Health and Safety, Local Catering Services has implemented COVID-19 Compliant Catering measures, risk assessments and checklists to enable us to provide our catering services the general public. These measures, assessments and checklists summarizes how we set up to work in different types of working environments to safely deliver our catering services.
Our COVID-19 Compliant catering procedures and risk assessments allow Local Catering Services and our clients to enjoy safe and compliant event catering for you and your guests. Our Covid-19 Compliant procedures are regularly updated and inline with National and Local guidance to ensure our clients and staff are properly protected.
COVID-19 Compliant Guidance For Catering Customers
In line with the governments advice we advise all of our customers to:
- Pay attention and observe all social distancing rules laid out by venue and Local Catering Services.
- Observe the 6 foot social distance rule. When this is not possible, please observe a 3+ foot social distance from people that do not live within your household.
- Practice good hand washing technique (minimum of 20 seconds using an anti-bacterial soaps) and practice good respiratory hygiene.
- All customers requesting catering drop offs will be provided with doorstep service or office reception deliveries at a 6 foot social distance until a client arrives to collect delivery.
- Carry and use anti-bacterial hand gel whenever possible.
- Use proper cold etiquette and catch coughs and sneezes in a tissue and dispose of any tissues into a trash bin and wash hands immediately. Individuals without tissues on hand should catch coughs and sneezes in the crook of their elbow.
- Exercise caution in crowds with inadequate social distance space.
- In confined social spaces where it is not possible to maintain at least a 6 foot plus social distance, we advise using full face coverings or at least a KN95 mask and over the top (Safety Glasses).
- If you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 do not attend any catering event and self isolate as recommended by State and Local Governments.
- Ensure that you and your guests are considerate to our staff when our staff is providing guidance and advice, and abide by their instructions at all times.
- Please always be courteous to staff and understand the that staff are working in challenging circumstances.
Risk Assessments & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
We will consider all customers catering requirements on a case-by-case basis inline with the current guidance and social factors relating to COVID-19. A full health and safety risk assessment will be performed on all event catering. We will ensure the health and safety of our staff, customers and guests.
All Local Catering Services staff will be equipped with suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce any potential risk of transmission of the Covid-19 virus for all catering staff and guests.
Where necessary, Local Catering Services staff may also use additional protective screens, face shields, masks, coverings and disposable aprons as well as access to our own hand washing and respiratory hygiene stations.
We ask that all of our clients and their guests implement the recommended a minimum of 6+ foot social distancing advised by the CDC and Local Health Organizations.
Some Additional Questions We’ll Ask You…
In line with our COVID-19 Compliant Catering Services you will be asked additional questions before we agree to cater your event that are, and not limited to:
- Has your venue got a full COVID-19 Compliant risk assessment, and can we obtain a copy?
- Is the venue for your event adequate to allow for social distancing of 6+ feet for your guest count?
- Is there adequate hand washing facilities or sanitary stations for your guests outside of restrooms? Or would this be an additional requirement?
- Have you contacted your guests to ensure they are not exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19?
- Is there an appropriate inhouse kitchen/catering facility for your event?
- Would you like your catering purchase dropped off or served at your event?
Trained & Prepared COVID-19 Compliant Catering Staff
To minimize risk, all of our Local Catering Services catering staff have been fully briefed and trained on our COVID-19 secure catering processes, procedures and risk assessments to ensure our team are operating in an healthy and safe work environment.
On return to work, all Local Catering Services staff are required to provide the relevant medical information ensure we safeguard them from any potential risk against the virus.
All Local Catering Services catering staff are temperature checked each day on arrival.
For the safety of all involved, Local Catering Services staff will utilize the State’s health and safety Test and Trace service at catering events as an additional precautionary measure.
All Local Catering Services staff are aware should they, a member of their household, or someone they have been in close proximity, exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms, they must self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days and request a COVID-19 test from the States Covid-19 Health and Safety. Staff who have tested positive for the virus will need to self-isolate for a minimum of 7 days.
Food Preparation & Supply Chains
Local Catering Services is, and has always been a 5-star food hygiene rated catering company using only locally sourced and fresh produce for all of our clients.
Local Catering Services will operate a “minimal crew” to ensure that the 6 foot social distancing rule can be adhered to during food preparation. We use designated working zones to manage social distancing directives.
To further reduce the risk of COVID-19 we have ensured all of our produce is sourced within a 48-hour window prior to your event to ensure our supply chain and food preparation has encountered minimal handling.
All of our produce that is not grown by us is now sourced by local suppliers and only collected when our order is ready to minimize contact with others.
